The quiet point of Blayse Ceramic isn’t in the first weeks of the course plan — it’s in what comes after: it continues. »Try The Wheel« (two days) leads to »Learn the Wheel« (five days), then to matched tableware sets built on repeatable forms, fermentation jars — and finally the Glaze Chemistry Lab, four days spent developing your own glazes. A genuine progression path for intermediate makers is rare in Berlin; here it is the programme.
Behind the studio and showroom in Weißensee is Riccardo Colombo, who alongside teaching produces commissions and brand collaborations and pursues glaze chemistry the way other people pursue archival research: systematically, documented, with lab protocols. That rigour shapes the workshop too — non-toxic materials, clear rules on attire and handling raw materials.
The open access is remarkable: open-studio sessions from €25 (wheel), €30 (hand-building) or €35 (glaze) are the cheapest route to a continuous practice we found in this research round. Once you have started here, you never have to book from zero again.
