Tobias Rudolph’s speciality is so small you can barely see it with the naked eye: load-bearing scarf joints in wooden rings worn on the finger — micro-carpentry at jewellery scale. That precision is made possible by a hybrid workshop where laser cutting, 3D printing and Pantorouter templates take over where the hand alone hits tolerance limits.
At the BLO-Ateliers in Lichtenberg he teaches strictly one-on-one — wooden rings, knife making with blades pre-forged by the blacksmith Adam Ashworth, or an open workshop day. The material depth of his courses extends to adhesive systems and veneer manipulation; that he has the blades forged externally is a stance in itself: everyone should do what they do best.
