“Demonstrate, then let go: intervention only when a piece fails structurally — the rest belongs to the learner's hands, because the clay is the real master.”

Jana Marlene Lippert’s path runs through three design schools — a BA in product design at FH Potsdam, an MA at ECAL in Lausanne, studies at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem — and through training as a Shiatsu therapist, before she co-founded Loam in 2021. Her large, raw coil-built vessels in stoneware and porcelain set the studio’s direction: bodily, unglazed, turned towards the imperfect. In teaching this translates into a rare restraint — demonstrate, step back, intervene only at structural failure.
